Information about the Leeds Local Offer

The Leeds Local Offer provides information for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their parents or carers in a single place. It shows families what they can expect from a range of local agencies including education, health and social care.

The Leeds Local Offer is about providing families with information to make informed choices about services they chose to use. 

The Leeds Local Offer information booklet has been produced to help families of a child with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) find out about information, help and support available to them in Leeds.

Join the Leeds Local Offer Facebook group to find out about developments to the Leeds Local Offer, updates about services and activities taking place across the city.

We have developed a communications and engagement toolkit to support professionals in promoting the Leeds Local Offer to families.

About the Leeds Local Offer - professionals

Our offer to services

The Leeds Local Offer website is for those 0-25 years old with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and has been operational since 1 September 2014. The SEND Code of Practice sets out the responsibility of the Local Authority in providing a local offer to families with children with SEND. 

The Leeds Local Offer is not just a directory of services, it is the unique place where young people with SEND and their families can provide suggestions for improving services and for new services they need.

Share information about your service with children, young people and families.  To provide up to date information about SEND services in Leeds for young people, families and professionals. 

Publish your service information on the Leeds Local Offer website. Complete the appear on this site online form. 

 

Include an article in the bi-monthly LLO ebulletin. Email your articles to LLO@leeds.gov.uk 

 

Share on our Leeds Local Offer facebook group. Email your facebook post to LLO@leeds.gov.uk 

 

Have a stall at our annual Leeds Local Offer Live event. For more information email LLO@leeds.gov.uk 
Provide information, advice and guidance when producing information for children and young people with SEND and their families.  To share our knowledge of producing information for young people and families with services.  To meet with a member of the team contact LLO@leeds.gov.uk 
Attend support groups to talk through to promote the Leeds Local Offer.  To increase the knowledge of the Leeds Local Offer amongst families.  To arrange for a member of the team to attend a parent carer support group email LLO@leeds.gov.uk 

Be part of the Leeds Local Offer network

  • Receive bi-monthly LLO bulletin and keep up to date with training and events.
 To keep professionals working with families up to date about SEND services, events and support for families.  To be part of the network email LLO@leeds.gov.uk 
Support you to host Preparing for Adulthood market place events within your school / setting (education settings only). To provide families with information to support their child into adulthood. 

We will work with you to identify the right services to invite to your Preparing for Adulthood market place event and produce an information booklet for you to give out to families.

LLO ebulletins

The Leeds Local Offer ebulletins are an opportunity for us to share with you key developments around the SEND Leeds Local Offer website, training opportunities, good practice, resources and promote consultations that are taking place in the city by services under the Local Offer.

We encourage you to share the information within your teams and children, young people and families you are working with. If you have any stories, service updates, groups or events that you would like us to feature in a future issue you can send them to LLO@leeds.gov.uk
